I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics and Research Chair in Immigration and Franco-Ontarian Communities at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. My research interests focus on the social and political geographies of immigration and settlement, community formation, identities and sense of belonging of immigrants and minority groups in Canadian cities. I have received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and Pathways to Prosperity Partnership. I am/have been involved in a number of comparative and collaborative projects examining the experiences of immigrants and minority groups in the transborder city of Ottawa-Gatineau, Francophone immigration in minority contexts, Canada's Syrian refugee resettlement initiative of 2015-2016, the social and economic integration of immigrants and refugees, as well as issues related to settlement service provision and community organizing in a context of diversity.
