Maggie Ivanova holds a PhD in Comparative Drama from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA), specializing in the dramatic and performance traditions of Ireland, Britain, Scandinavia, Russia and East Asia. She joined Flinders University in 2010 and has, since then, contributed to the teaching of Drama at every level of the curriculum: undergraduate, honours and postgraduate. In 2015, she was elected Vice President of the Japan Studies Association (USA); in 2017, she became editor of the organisation’s peer-reviewed journal. She translates for the stage working with Bulgarian and English.
