Mandy is a teacher, researcher and filmmaker currently employed as a senior lecturer in sociology at Southern Cross University. Her research focuses on refugee issues, in particular examining what contributes to a positive settlement experience in regional Australia. Other interests include empowerment through arts, health sociology, food studies, visual research and international development. Mandy worked previously for ABC and SBS, and has also been employed in community and international development.
