Manuel García-Goñi

Associate Professor of Applied Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Manuel García-Goñi is Associate Professor of Applied Economics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Manuel earned his Ph.D. in Economics and MA in Political Economy at Boston University, specialized in the fields of Health Economics and Industrial Organization. He has acted as Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, as Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University at Canberra, and as Visiting Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara, Universidade do Porto, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Since 2004 Manuel has been Academic Secretary and Director of the Spanish Encounter of the Drug Industry that takes place annually at Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Santander, Spain; between 2006 and 2012, he was a member of the Boards of Directors at the Spanish Health Economics Association, and the Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Spanish Health Economics Conference in 2012. Manuel has published in peer reviewed economic journals as Health Economics, Health Policy, Research Policy, European Journal of Health Economics, or Ageing & Society, among others. His research has been funded by institutions such as the European Commission, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (United States), the Institute for Fiscal Studies (Spain), or the Ramon Areces Foundation (Spain).
