Maria Jose Baeza Robba

Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Instructor of Nursing, University of Michigan

María José Baeza Robba is an Impact Scholar postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan's Center for Global Health Equity and an adjunct instructor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile's School of Nursing. Her work focuses on gender-based violence, especially promoting help-seeking behaviors and well-being for women from various cultural and social backgrounds who have experienced intimate partner violence.

Dr. Baeza Robba has done fieldwork with migrant Hispanic women in the U.S. and young women in sub-Saharan Africa. Her current research explores the barriers Nigerian and Ghanaian university students face when seeking help for intimate partner violence. Her main goal as a gender-based violence researcher is to empower and improve well-being of survivors of intimate partner violence in low- and middle-income countries by promoting access to resources.
