I completed my undergraduate studies in Literature and Spanish Linguistics at the Autonomous Unviersity of Zacaecas, Mexico, and hold a master’s degree in General and Comparative Literature from Berlin’s Freie Universität. My research focuses on Germanic mythology, Germanophonic fantastic literature, and J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary production. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow with the research project “Ethics, Femininity and the Encounter with the Other in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth Narratives”, funded by the Mexican National Council for Science and Technology and the National Foundation for Fine Arts and Literature. I am also the Equality and Diversity Officer for the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic, and teach courses in German culture, Comparative Literature, and Spanish language.
