Lecturer in Environmental Politics, Keele University

I am a Lecturer in Environmental Politics at Keele University, as well as Co-Investigator at the ESRC-funded Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP) led by Tim Jackson at the University of Surrey.

My research interest is in democratic theory and environmental political theory, and their intersection. In particular, I am interested in deliberative democracy, especially in relation to culture; the concept of environmental sustainability, and its governance; associative democracy and the democratic role of civic associations; as well as a few other issues in environmental politics, democratic theory, and political philosophy.

I am currently working on a conceptualisation of deliberative democracy as a political culture; an account of sustainability as social-ecological resilience; and an argument on democratic sustainability politics and eco-citizenship.
