Mary Gallagher

I am a professor of political science at the University of Michigan where I also direct the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies. I research Chinese politics, law, and labor issues. I have a Ph.D in politics from Princeton University. My book, Authoritarian Legality in China, (Cambridge University Press, 2017) examines Chinese workers' legal mobilization access to protect their workplace rights.
