Marycarmen Lara Villanueva

Marycarmen Lara-Villanueva is a Mexican-born PhD Candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her doctoral research is anchored in anti-colonial and anti-racist discursive frameworks, and it explores anti-Black racism in Mexico and how this is produced and learned in elementary schools through visuals. She is also a Senior Coordinator at the Centre for integrative Anti-Racism Studies, where she oversees the planning of various anti-racist initiatives and other projects which seek to bridge academia with communities.
