As a postdoctoral fellow, and later as a research fellow at Stellenbosch University, my research has largely focused on the politics of spatial, environmental and pedagogical ‘justice’. Working in relation to civil society organisations such as Reclaim the City and the Philippi Horticultural Area Campaign has grounded my scholarship. I am the political education and climate science secretary of the Climate Justice Charter Movement (South Africa), and a co-founder and director of the Global Classroom for Democracy Innovation (Global), and Cape Town Design Nerds (South Africa). My ongoing research interests involve the (bio)politics of food and water in the context of the climate crisis.
