Maureen joined Salford Law School in 2008, after completing her LLM at King’s College London. She had previously practiced as a solicitor, mainly in family and child law, and in immigration law. Maureen became the School’s Pro-bono

Co-ordinator in 2010, and took the lead in establishing a pilot Streetlaw programme. The Streetlaw programme has now been incorporated into the Communication Skills module. Maureen is the School’s year two tutor.

Research interests include:

Criminal justice responses to violent and sexual offences

Criminal and civil law relating to the safeguarding of children

Criminal justice responses to the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adults

Gender and the law
