I was born in Salerno (Italy), June 4th, 1978.Mauro Rubino has a PhD in Environmental Science at the Second University of Naples (SUN). I am currently a Research Scientist at SUN and a visiting Scientist at CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization). I am an isotope biogeochemist. The research activity I have carried out has focused on developing isotopic methodologies to quantify the fluxes involved in the global carbon cycle. Understanding the interplay between the global carbon cycle and the climate is a priority on the political agenda because of the risks associated with climate change. It is necessary to identify the factors influencing carbon fluxes and precisely quantify the fluxes themselves to better constrain future changes of the global carbon cycle and the climate system.
