Professor of Organization Studies and Sustainability, Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada

I earned my Ph.D. from Columbia University. Currently I am a professor of Organization Studies and Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto.

I conduct research on how culture (such as institutional arrangements, social norms, and history) influences organizations and people, as well as on how culture can be used strategically. I am especially interested in the roles that emotions and power play in these processes. I have explored these issues in a variety of industries and organizations, including Ontario wine and restaurant industries and Canadian whisky industry. My work appears or is forthcoming in such leading management journals as Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, and Organization, among others.
