Postdoctoral Research Fellow of Muslim Philanthropy, Indiana University

Micah A. Hughes, PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He received his PhD in Islamic Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specializes in the study of religion, secularism, education, and civil society in modern Turkey and the United States.

He also serves as Associate Editor of The Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society (Indiana University Press) as well as Associate Editor at The Maydan, an online publication of the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University. He is project manager for The Maydan Podcast, sponsored by the Henry Luce Foundation.
