Micah True holds a PhD in French Studies from Duke University. He is Associate Professor of French and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Alberta. His scholarly work on Jesuit writers in the early modern Atlantic world includes Masters and Students: Jesuit Mission Ethnography in 17th-Century New France, published in 2015 by McGill-Queen's University Press, and an annotated translation of Pierre-François-Xavier de Charlevoix's 18th century account of his voyage through New France, Louisiana, and the Caribbean, published in Brill's Jesuit Studies series in 2019. He is at work on a new book on the Jesuit Relations from New France.
