Miguel graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of the Armed Forces -ESPE in Ecuador, where he worked as an engineer and a consultant for the government in the Transportation sector and found his passion in the transportation field. This led him to study for his master's degree in transportation studies at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, where he researched travel behaviour and public transport. After completing his MSc he worked for a transportation consultant as a transportation planner in Israel.
Miguel's experience and passion brought him to specialise in sustainable transportation for his doctoral studies at the ITLS, the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies, the University of Sydney. His research is interdisciplinary and focuses on the implementation of sustainable policies taking into account cultural traits, people's behaviours, and institutional arrangements.
