Milagros Sáinz Ibáñez

Since March 2007 I have a permanent position as senior researcher at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (UOC), where since January 2016 I lead the gender and ICT research group. My research interests are related to family and school influences on study choices; gender role development during adolescence; gender stereotypes about ability self-concepts, achievement and task-choices; gendered construction of careers of occupations; and secondary school teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards technology and technological subjects. I have published several journal articles in prestigious international journals (see section C1.) I would highlight my skills in leading research projects and research contracts, with substantial experience in knowledge transfer-related activities (see C2 and C3 sections). Furthermore and in order to complement my research experience, in 2010 and 2011 I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Social Research of the University of Michigan with grants funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education (José Castillejo Mobility Grant) and the Generalitat de Catalunya (BE Mobility Grants). In 2015 I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the department of Educational Foundations of South Africa. In 1997 and 2005 I was respectively a pre-doctoral research fellow at the University of Stanford and the technological university of Berlin. I have participated in relevant scientific committees in the field of gender, motivation, stereotypes, and digital inequalities. I have also taken part in international and national scientific networks, where prestigious scientific personalities take part. I have been granted with two six-year research periods. My research has had a great impact in several non-specialized (i.e. El País, la Vanguardia, El Confidencial, El Periódico, Diari Ara, El Mundo, El Economista, La Razón, ABC) and specialized newspapers and digital media (i.e. Educación 3.0; Educaweb; Magisterio, FECYTEDU, Magisnet), Television (TV3, Barcelona BTV,), Radio (Radio Nacional, Radio Sabadell, Rac1, Catalunya Radio, Radio Voz Radio de Galicia, Radio Popular, Egunon Magazine).
