Myriam Brouard

Myriam Brouard is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. As a Consumer Culture Theorist, her research explores the intersection of marketing and anthropology, focusing on disruptive technologies and their adoption. She is particularly interested in diversity, equity, and inclusion in technological spaces like Web3 and the Metaverse, examining how Black and Indigenous creators navigate these environments. Her work has been published in top business journals and presented at prestigious academic conferences. As an educator, she has developed the first Canadian cross-disciplinary course on EDI in business due to her involvement in the Telfer EDI committee. Beyond academia, Myriam actively contributes to community-led organizations working for the betterment of marginalized populations. She has served as an ambassador for inclusive governance with the Groupe des Trente, sat on the Conseil Interculturel de Montreal, and founded the Noire Fungibles Alliance, a group of influential Black women thought leaders in the Web3 space. She also serves on the boards of three non-profit organizations in the cultural sector.
