I have a keen interest in how marine species cope with variation in their environment and whether they can face the range of emerging human-induced threats. I use a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches to tackle a variety of conservation challenges in applied ecology. I developed strong quantitative skills to investigate these questions in wild animals and using that knowledge to drive improved outcomes for sustainable resource management. I am interested in all facets of science (theory, applications, fieldwork, outreach and teaching). I am currently leading the population dynamic analysis of time-series of sharks and rays to track declines, extinction risk, and signs of recovery.
