Associate Professor of Communication Studies, University of Puget Sound

Dr. Brody is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies. His research examines the social implications of technology, and he teaches classes in communication theory, quantitative research methods, communication and technology, and relational communication. Professor Brody received the Thomas A. Davis teaching award in 2019.

He has published over 20 journal articles and book chapters on the topics of bystander behavior in cyberbullying episodes, technology use following breakups, communication in on-again/off-again relationships, and the cognitive similarities between social and physical pain. This research appears in Communication Monographs, Communication Research, the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, the Journal of Language and Social Psychology, Personal Relationships, Social Media + Society, and Computers in Human Behavior. Professor Brody received the Puget Sound faculty research award in 2016.
