Dr Nicole (Nikki) Brunker's research interests include school experience, alternative paths of learning, Initial Teacher Education pedagogy, and innovative qualitative methodologies. Current research projects include the experience of children and families when school has not 'fit', children and young people's perceptions of school in creating a 'good life', and pre-service teacher experiences of unexpected critical pedagogy. After completing a BEd at USyd Nikki taught in alternative and mainstream schools, with experience in early childhood, primary and secondary schooling as a teacher and Principal.
