Nikolas R. Webster

Clinical Assistant Professor of Sport Management, University of Michigan

Nikolas Webster is a clinical assistant professor of Sport Management at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. His research examines the cognitive, affective, and behavioral consequences of sport fandom as well as issues surrounding the economics and management of sport. Dr. Webster’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including International Journal of Sport Management and International Journal of Business in Sports, Tourism, & Hospitality. Prior to his position at the University of Michigan, he held a tenure-track faculty position at Coastal Carolina University.

Dr. Webster has taught over 10 different courses within the Sport Management discipline, including courses on consumer behavior, data analytics, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, and marketing. He prioritizes his students’ professional development in all his courses. Dr. Webster is also the School of Kinesiology's Director for Global Engagement. Additionally, Dr. Webster serves as an internship administrator for the Sport Management program, and he is the faculty advisor for the Michigan Sport Venture Group (MSVG).

Dr. Webster earned his PhD in Sport Management from Florida State University, his MS in Athletic Administration from Indiana University, and his BS in Exercise Science from Indiana University.
