Professor and Chair of the Department of Agricultural and Bio Systems Engineering, Makerere University

Noble Banadda is Professor and Chair of the Department of Agricultural and BioSystems Engineering at Makerere University in Uganda.

He earned his Doctorate degree in chemical engineering at Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium. He also followed postdoctoral professional training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Since 2018, he is Research Fellow at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, UK. He is an extra Ordinary Professor at the Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands and a Next Einstein Fellow Laurate; the youngest fellow of Uganda National Academy of Sciences. On 12 November 2018, he was honored by Pope Francis in the Vatican for Scientific Excellence and Publication – the first African under the age of 45 years to be recognized by a sitting Pope since 1631.
