Associate Professor, Nursing, University of Windsor

Dr. Noeman Mirza is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor. He has a background in educational and gerontological research, and holds a BScN and PhD in Nursing from McMaster University. Building on information processing models and machine learning theories, his educational research explores hypothesis generation abilities among students as they conceptualize health situations with increasing complexity. Dr. Mirza's gerontological research examines the impact of the restructuring of health services on rural- and urban-dwelling older adults, with a particular focus on the complexity of various determinants of health and health inequalities. Dr. Mirza has received funding from Interior Health (IH), Michael Smith Health Research BC, Interior University Research Coalition (IURC), the WE-SPARK HEALTH Institute, Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
