Omar Mubin's research interests comprise of human computer interaction, social robotics (and the perception of humans of them thereof), exploring the role of robots in education, empirical research in human computer interaction and user-centered design.

He has authored/co-authored more than 55 articles in peer reviewed conferences and journals in the areas of Human Computer Interaction and Human Robot Interaction.

Dr Mubin regularly reviews for the top tier conferences and journals in Human Computer Interaction and Human Robot Interaction. He is on the program committee for British HCI 2015, the International Conference of Social Robotics (ICSR) 2015 and 2014. He is also the co-chair of the Late Breaking Reports Session for HRI 2016.
