Oscar Vorobjovas-Pinta

Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Society, University of Tasmania

Dr Oscar Vorobjovas-Pinta is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Society in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Tasmania. He is a Board Member of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Leisure Research, an Associate Editor of Event Management, and the Social Media Editor of Annals of Leisure Research. Oscar's research interests are LGBTQI+ tourism, leisure and events, the sociology of tourism, tourist behaviour, and the sharing economy. In 2021, Oscar has published an edited book 'Gay Tourism: New Perspectives'. He has also a broad interest and industry experience in innovative tourism research and is involved in a number of projects focusing on resilience, and technology-enabled advanced tracking of visitors. These projects have each been built on extensive stakeholder and industry engagement.
