Padmashree Gehl Sampath

Fellow, and Senior Advisor, Global Access in Action Program, Berkman Klein Center, Harvard University

Padmashree Gehl Sampath is currently a senior adviser to the Global Access in Action programme and a fellow of the Berkman Klein Center, Harvard University. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Social Sciences, University of Aalborg, Denmark and a Professional Fellow at the United Nations University‒MERIT. Padmashree’s research interests focus on the economic and social implications of trade and technology flows in different contexts. She studies technology and industrialization; technology and inequality; technology, trade, and market power; and governance frameworks for technology, innovation, and industrialization. In her recent work on the digital economy, she analyses how questions of data infrastructure, architecture, and design impact stewardship and the exercise of rights, the persistence of exclusion, and potential governance solutions, looking at industrial policy, intellectual property, and technology
policy.
