Professor in Geography, Trinity College Dublin

Pádraig Carmody teaches at Trinity College Dublin and is also a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg in the School of Hospitality and Management. He has published a number of books, including Africa's Shadow Rise with Peter Kragelund and Ricardo Reboredo (Zed, 2020), The New Scramble for Africa (Polity, 2016, 2nd ed) and with James Murphy, Africa’s Information Revolution: Technical Regimes and Production Networks in South Africa and Tanzania (Wiley-Blackwell, 2015). He is an associate editor of Transnational Corporations published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and Director of the Masters in Development Practice at TCD.
