Paloma Raggo

Paloma Raggo is an Assistant Professor of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University. She holds a PhD from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Her research interests include international NGO/nonprofit governance and accountability, leadership, global philanthropy, online teaching, and qualitative research methods. Her current research funded by a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), investigates phenomenon of “accountability dissonance”, a follow-up of her doctoral work, where she studies the relationship between the level of decision-making and changes of accountability perceptions within international organizations. She received the Best Thesis Award from the Canadian Association of Nonprofit Research and Social Economy Research for the Best Thesis (ANSER-ARES) (2015). From 2011 to 2013, she served as the Associate Director of the Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR) held at Syracuse University.
