Panagiotis Fragkos

Researcher, Energy & Economy, National Technical University of Athens

Panagiotis Fragkos currently works at the E3Modelling and at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), National Technical University of Athens. Panagiotis does research in Climate Change Economics, Energy Economics and Econometrics.

For more than 14 years Fragkos has been using modelling to conduct quantitative analysis of the global “energy-economy-environment” nexus and support countries with strategic planning and implementation of climate change mitigation policies. He has been in charge of developing and running large-scale mathematical models that simulate national transition pathways but also global energy system dynamics to assess the interplay between national climate action and global climate mitigation goals. He has led and participated in a large number of projects and studies assessing energy and climate policies, green growth strategies, linkages between climate action and sustainable development, and socio-economic effects of decarbonisation.

Fragkos graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD in “Stochastic modelling of the global energy system and applications”.
