Ph.D. candidate, Indiana University

I am currently a doctoral candidate in Environmental Science in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University Bloomington (2015-2020). My broader research interests relate to forest ecology, institutional analysis, and environmental policies, mainly in the Brazilian Amazon. I am particularly interested in (i) the ecological dynamics and role of second-growth forests in conserving and provisioning ecosystem services; (ii) the drivers of land-use and land-cover change, and (iii) the responses arising from local context-specific realities to one-size-fits-all policies to control deforestation.
