Peter Beaglehole is a playwright. His work has been performed in ATYP’s Intersection 2017, published by Currency press, and in the 2013 Come Out Festival (Now DreamBIG Children’s Festival). His play Strata was presented at RUMPUS in 2020, was a finalist in 2018 for the Jill Blewett Playwright’s Award and won the Young Playwright’s Award in 2016. He received a 2018 Carclew Fellowship to develop his new play Petrichor with the mentorship of Mary Anne Butler.
He also completed a PhD in Australian theatre history, focusing on six plays by Dorothy Hewett and approaching them from the field of Memory Studies, and sometimes works as a casual academic and research assistant.
