Professor of Emerging Infectious Diseases and Global Health, University of Oxford

Peter Horby is Professor of Emerging Infectious Diseases at the University of Oxford. He is Director of the Epidemic Diseases Research Group at Oxford which conducts clinical and epidemiological research on epidemic and emerging infections. He has worked extensively in resource constrained settings and has led research on a range of epidemic infections, including SARS, bird flu, dengue, cholera, measles, and most recently Ebola. He is the Principal Investigator of the Wellcome Trust funded platform for evaluating experimental therapeutics for Ebola in West Africa.
