After working in the Dutch merchant navy for 10 years I came ashore and worked in the shipping and stevedoring industry for over 25 years in the Netherlands as well as in Australia.
I now work as a Maritime Logistics Expert at the Centre for Supply Chain and Logistics at Deakin University based in Melbourne and undertake mainly commercial research and consultancies and provide commentary in the media on my area of expertise.
I am a director of the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association ( ICHCA) Australia, part of ICHCA International, an independent not for profit organization dedicated to improving the safety, security and efficiency of cargo handling and goods movement by all modes of transport.
I run my own company which provides advice on maritime matters and was winner of the 2017 Maritime Services Award which was awarded at the DCN Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards ceremony.
