Raphaël Besson

EN. Raphaël Besson is expert in urban socio-economics and doctor of Urbanism and Territorial Sciences (PACTE Laboratory, University of Grenoble). In 2013, he founds Villes Innovations an agency specialized on the thematic of urban socioeconomy, the field of urban and territorial innovations and Third Places. Affiliated with the PACTE laboratory, its research focuses on public territorial innovation, socio-economic and cultural policies. His thesis explored the notion of Cognitive Urban Systems through an analysis of large-scale urban projects in Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Grenoble. Raphaël Besson is the the author of numerous papers published in specialized reviews and collective works. He also regularly teaches territorial prospective, innovation, and urban economics in institutions, in Grenoble and Lyon Geography and Urban Planning Institutes, as well as in The Architecture and Design Schools of Nantes, Lyon, Buenos Aires, Madrid and Grenoble.

En 2013, il fonde « Villes Innovations », un bureau d¹étude localisé à Madrid et Grenoble, spécialisé sur les les Tiers Lieux et les questions de prospective urbaine et territoriale. Rattaché au laboratoire PACTE, ses travaux de recherche portent sur les politiques d’innovation territoriale, les politiques urbaines, socio-économiques et culturelles. Il travaille actuellement sur les notions d'espaces transitionnels, de Tiers Lieux culturels, d'écosystèmes régénératifs et d'externalités. Raphaël Besson est l’auteur de nombreux articles publiés dans des revues et des ouvrages collectifs. Il enseigne régulièrement les questions de prospective territoriale, d’innovation et d’économie urbaine dans les Instituts de géographie et d’urbanisme (Grenoble, Lyon), les Ecoles d’architecture et de design (Nantes, Lyon, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Grenoble).
