I am currently an Honorary Professor in the School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University. Previously I was professor of psychology in the School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University and in the School of Social Work and Psychology in the University of East Anglia.
I undertake psychological research in a number of areas, primarily the study of shyness among children and adults, and blushing.
I have a BA in Psychology from Queen's University Belfast, an MSc in Mathematical Psychology from Stirling University and a PhD in Psychology from Keele University. I am a Chartered Psychologist and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society
