I am the Culinary Projects Lead for the Arrell Food Institute and School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management at the University of Guelph. Rebecca primarily conducts research on the work conditions in the hospitality and tourism industry. She is keenly interested in how the hospitality industry can transform into an industry that provides decent, dignified, and safe careers for all. Through her research, Rebecca became heavily involved with the Canadian Restaurant Workers Coalition. She has spoken to politicians across the country, presented to the Senate of Canada and she has been a prominent spokesperson in the media addressing the need for better work conditions and health protections for hospitality workers.
