Rebecca Windemer

Postdoctoral Fellow in Planning and Energy, Cardiff University

I completed my ESRC-funded PhD in January 2020. My research explored end-of-life decision making (repowering, life extension and decommissioning) for onshore wind and solar farms, as well as broader considerations regarding how the planning system considers and regulates time.

I have shared my findings with the UK, Welsh and Irish Governments and have produced policy briefs, news articles and academic papers from the findings.

My fellowship will build upon my PhD enabling me to share my findings in accessible formats as well as in academic publications and to engage with industry and policy makers.
