Initially obtained a BVMCh degree at then Medical University of Southern Africa (now Sefako Makgatho university)
Worked as a career veterinarian in government and became one of the provincial Director for Veterinary services (Northern Cape)
Later in 2011, joined the university as the Chair on Primary Animal Health Care focusing on the development of small-scale farmers
Obtained my MSc degree in 2013 and then took over as Head of Department for Production Animal studies at the Faculty of Veterinary science, UP since 2017.
