Rene Woods is a Nari Nari man from southwest New South Wales with a long involvement in securing rights to water for Aboriginal people, including as Chair of Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations (MLDRIN) and Operations Manager at Nari Nari Tribal Council. He grew up on the Murrumbidgee River where the river was always central to his family, his community and their way of life. Rene is currently working at The Nature Conservancy Australia and also works as a program manager of Gayini Nimmie-Caira in southern New South Wales. Rene is also an Advisor to the Murray Darling Wetlands Water Group on Aboriginal water.
Rene Woods is a Board Member of the Murray Darling Basin Authority and a Member of the Committee on Aboriginal water Interests.
