Richard Blakemore

Associate Professor in Social and Maritime History, University of Reading

Dr Richard Blakemore is Associate Professor in Social and Maritime History at the University of Reading. He researches and teaches on the history of maritime empire, trade, piracy, and cultural exchange in the early modern world. He is a consultant for the National Maritime Museum and the Deutsches Schifffahrtsmuseum and is a trustee of the British Commission for Maritime History.
