I am a qualified doctor (MB BS, Newcastle upon Tyne 1986) with a higher degree (MD, Newcastle upon Tyne 1995) and a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and Royal Australasian College of Physicians. I am a recognised specialist in general and geriatric medicine. I have an honorary Professorial fellowship at the George Institute for Global Health, Sydney.
