I have BA degrees in English Literature and African Studies from Howard University, an MSc in African History and Politics from Oxford University, and a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London. My core areas of research expertise include the political economy of development; migration; citizenship; transnationalism; conflict; and post-war recovery. I am currently an Ibrahim Leadership Fellow at the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
