Robyn Warner has a Ph.D. in Food and Meat science from the USA. She presently works as a senior principal research scientist and team leader for CSIRO Food and Nutritional Sciences, where she applies her meat science and muscle biochemistry training to problems confronting the meat industry. Dr. Warner supervises post-graduates and has numerous publications, including 66 papers in refereed journals and 15 invited papers at international conferences, as well as speaking on National and Regional Radio stations. The two awards of which she is proudest, have both been achieved for her role on the Meat Standards Australia food grading scheme. The latest award was the 2010 Eureka Prize as part of a team for Meat Standards Australia research and the previous award was the International Meat Secretariat Millenium Prize for Meat Science and Technology in 2000. Robyn Warner is Australia’s contact person for the Annual International Congress of Meat Science and Technology, is named on the ISI list of highly cited agricultural scientists and has served on the research and development team for MLA’s Meat Standards Australia National Eating Quality Assurance Program for Beef and Lamb, since its inception in 1995. Robyn is assisting CSIRO to develop a strategy for the Meat Industries and to develop a through chain approach to ensuring a sustainable meat industry.
