Director, Australian Ocean Data Network, University of Tasmania

The Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN), a component of the Integrated Marine Observing System, is an information infrastructure providing discovery of and access to marine data resources in Australian waters and beyond. Built on open source software and employing international standards for metadata and data enables interoperability with many different data sources from different disciplines. I have been director of AODN for the past 10 years; prior to that I had a career in the UK as a coastal oceanographer/modeller at the National Oceanography Centre, Liverpool.
