I’m Rufus, an undergraduate history and philosophy of science student at UCL. I’m interested in philosophy of mind, cognitive science and technology. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work as a research assistant at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) under my wonderful mentors Ilan Strauss, Tim O’Reilly and Mariana Mazzucato. At the IIPP, my contributions were dedicated to the algorithmic attention rents research project in which we theorise and empirically demonstrate how digital platforms are able to exploit their market power by controlling user attention.
