Sam Telford

I am an epidemiologist focusing on arthropod-transmitted infections and am currently Professor of Infectious Disease and Global Health teaching graduate level courses on biodefense and on the epidemiology of zoonoses.

My laboratory now focuses on the mode of perpetuation and public health burden of vector-borne infections such as tularemia, deer tick virus, babesiosis, and borreliosis. I have had federal, state, and private funding for research on the epidemiology and ecology of tick-borne infections, and have published over 200 peer reviewed reports. I advise local, state, and national organizations on public health interventions against tick and mosquito-borne infections.
