Sarah Pollock

I have recently made the transition from social work practice to teaching. Prior to my appointment at University of Salford I worked for Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, initially on an Adult Duty Team, before moving to become involved with creating a new Urgent Care Team, which was based in A&E at The Royal Oldham Hospital and covered urgent discharges and admissions avoidance in the A&E and Medical Assessment Unit at the hospital. This experience lead to my PhD proposal, which aims to explore the experiences of South Asian individuals accessing the NHS and social care services available to them.
