Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sydney

Dr Sarira El-Den graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy with First Class Honours at Charles Darwin University in 2013. In 2012, Sarira won the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's SA/NT Pharmacy Student of the Year competition. In 2014, Sarira joined the Faculty of Pharmacy, The University of Sydney as a PhD candidate. Her research explores pharmacists roles in mental healthcare, pharmacy practice and education. During her PhD candidature, Sarira also concurrently completed a Masters in International Public Health through the Sydney School of Public Health.

Since 2014, Sarira has been teaching across the Bachelor and Masters of Pharmacy curricula at the Faculty of Pharmacy. She also teaches into the National Intern Training Program at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. During 2016, Sarira received an Endeavour Research Fellowship which allowed her to conduct part of her PhD research in Canada.

Sarira is a registered pharmacist. In 2018, Sarira was awarded her PhD and took on a full-time academic position at the Faculty. She is currently a Lecturer and Clinical Placements Coordinator at the Faculty of Pharmacy, The University of Sydney.
