Professor of Economics, University of Glasgow

I am a Professor of Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. I was a Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick from October 2004 to March 2013, and Research Director for the ESRC Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) from 2010 - 2012. I continue to be closely associated with CAGE as a Co-Investigator/Research Fellow.
My research interests are mainly in the area of economic theory and its applications including foundations of general equilibrium, internally constrained choice and deprivation traps, financial crisis, endogenous formation of networks and groups, global cooperation and climate change, long-run growth. In addition, with a a number of colleagues, I have also just finished a large-scale field experiment in Kolkata, India.
